Visiting the clinic

Where is the clinic?

We’re at #203 – 6981 East Saanich Road, Saanichton, BC V8Z 5Z2, in the heart of Saanichton village. Search “Saanichton Chiropractic Group” in your maps app or open us in Google Maps. See our clinic page for photos of both entrances.

Which entrance should I use?

There are two. From East Saanich Road, the clinic is at street level from the front of the office, with roadside parking out front. From the rear lot off Island View Road, take the elevator or the stairs up one floor.

Is there parking?

Yes, and it’s free. Our private rear lot off Island View Road has 12 spaces for the clinic: 10 unmarked spots and two marked for Unit 203. There is also roadside parking on East Saanich Road.

Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The front entrance on East Saanich Road is the simplest option: it’s at street level with power doors, so you can park out front and come straight in. The rear entrance off Island View Road also has a ramp, a lift and an elevator up to the clinic.

What are your hours?

We’re open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and closed on Sundays. Online booking is open 24 hours a day.

Booking & billing

Do you take walk-ins?

We work by appointment so a practitioner is free when you arrive. Call 250 223 0200 and we’ll do our best to fit you in, or book online.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Same-day or next-day appointments are often available. For urgent problems, call us and we’ll find the earliest time. For routine care, booking a few days ahead gives you the most choice.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No. You can book directly with any of our chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturist or athletic therapist. Some extended health plans ask for a doctor’s note before they reimburse massage therapy, so check your plan if you’re unsure.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash and credit card, plus direct billing to ICBC, WorkSafeBC and most extended health plans. Payment is due at the time of your visit; with direct billing you only pay the portion your plan doesn’t cover.

Do you direct bill my insurance?

Yes, for chiropractic, registered massage therapy, acupuncture and athletic therapy with most extended health insurers. We ask for a credit card on file to direct bill. See fees and direct billing for details.

How much does a visit cost?

Our full fee schedule, from initial chiropractic visits to 90-minute massage, is on the fees and direct billing page. If your insurance won’t cover something, we’ll tell you the cost before treatment.

ICBC, WorkSafeBC & benefits

Can I come in after a car accident?

Yes. ICBC pre-approves up to 25 chiropractic treatments in the first 12 weeks after a crash, with no referral needed, and covers massage therapy and other care on the same claim. You can start treatment before your claim number is ready. Read more on our ICBC chiropractic page.

Do you treat workplace injuries?

Yes. We direct bill WorkSafeBC. Bring your claim number when you book. If you haven’t reported the injury yet, call WorkSafeBC’s Claim Call Centre at 1-888-967-5377. See our WorkSafeBC page.

Does MSP cover any of my visits?

If you receive MSP Premium Assistance, you’re eligible for limited coverage of chiropractic, massage therapy and some other services, up to a combined 10 visits per calendar year. Let our front desk know when you book.

Your first visit & treatment

What happens at my first visit?

Your practitioner takes a full health history, examines how you move, explains what’s going on, and walks you through a treatment plan before treating. We always try to include treatment on your first visit. Here’s what to expect, step by step.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in, like gym wear. Leave heavy jewellery at home.

Will I need X-rays?

Most people don’t. Your chiropractor will only recommend imaging if your assessment points to a specific need, and will explain why first. This can include ruling out a fracture or break after trauma, guided by current clinical decision rules such as the Ottawa ankle and knee rules.

Can I see more than one practitioner?

Yes, and many patients do. Your chiropractor, massage therapist and athletic therapist share notes and plan your care together, so you don’t need separate referrals. Research suggests that multidisciplinary care can lead to better outcomes for many patients. Meet the team.

I’m not sure which service to book. Where should I start?

If you’re unsure, start with a chiropractor. They’ll assess the problem and tell you whether chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, athletic therapy or a mix will help most. You can also call us at 250 223 0200 and we’ll point you to the right person.
