We are proud to announce that Saanichton Chiropractic Group has won 1st Place Platinum in the 2025 Victoria Community Votes for Healthcare — moving up from a silver finish in 2024 to take the top spot this year. This recognition means the world to our entire team, and it belongs first and foremost to you: the patients, neighbours, and community members of the Saanich Peninsula who trusted us with your health and took the time to vote.

2025 Victoria Community Votes
1st Place Platinum — Chiropractic Clinic
Healthcare Category | Greater Victoria, BC
From Silver to Gold: A Journey of Clinical Excellence
Earning 2nd place in 2024 was an honour we took seriously. Over the past year we focused on what we could do better: expanding our services, improving access for new patients, and doubling down on the collaborative, evidence-based care model that sets us apart. Moving to 1st place in 2025 tells us that investment in patient outcomes is what Victoria residents value most — and it motivates us to keep raising the bar.
This award is decided entirely by community nominations and votes from local residents across Greater Victoria. There is no judging panel and no paid placement — it reflects the genuine preference of thousands of people who have either experienced our care firsthand or heard about it from someone they trust.
Why Victoria Chose Saanichton Chiropractic Group
Integrated, Multi-Disciplinary Care Under One Roof
Unlike many single-practitioner chiropractic offices, Saanichton Chiropractic Group brings together chiropractors, Registered Massage Therapists, an osteopathic manual practitioner, and an acupuncturist — with access to advanced treatments including shockwave therapy. When your providers communicate and coordinate your care, the outcomes are consistently better than any single modality can achieve alone.
Advanced Clinical Credentials
Our co-owner and chiropractor Dr. Mike Hadbavny holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences of Canada (FRCCSS(C)) — one of the most advanced post-doctoral credentials available in chiropractic sports sciences in the country. He also holds an International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). This level of training goes well beyond what is required to practice, and it directly benefits patients dealing with complex musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. Our full sports chiropractic approach is outlined in our sports injury page.
Genuine Community Roots on the Saanich Peninsula
We are a locally owned clinic based in Saanichton, and our patients come from across Central Saanich, North Saanich, Sidney, Brentwood Bay, and the broader Greater Victoria region. We have supported local athletes, families, seniors, and workers — including patients navigating ICBC claims after motor vehicle accidents and WorkSafeBC workplace injuries. Being part of this community is not just a tagline for us; it shapes how we practice every day.
Meet the Team Behind the Award
Dr. Mike Hadbavny, DC
FRCCSS(C) ICSC DC — CMCC BPE — Brock University
Dr. Mike Hadbavny is the founder and lead chiropractor at Saanichton Chiropractic Group. He earned his Bachelor of Physical Education from Brock University before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College — the country's most respected chiropractic institution. He subsequently earned his Fellowship in the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences of Canada (FRCCSS(C)) and holds the International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC), credentials shared by only a small number of practitioners in the country.
Dr. Hadbavny has worked with competitive and elite athletes across multiple sports and brings that performance-focused, evidence-based approach to every patient — whether you're a recreational runner, a desk worker with chronic neck pain, or a senior looking to stay active and independent.
Alongside Dr. Hadbavny, our team of Registered Massage Therapists, osteopathic manual practitioner, and acupuncturist each bring deep clinical training and a shared commitment to getting patients real, lasting results. Every practitioner at our clinic operates under the same philosophy: find the root cause, treat it thoroughly, and give you the tools to stay well. You can read what our patients say about the whole team on our reviews page.
What This Award Means for New Patients
If you've been searching for a chiropractor in Victoria or on the Saanich Peninsula and aren't sure where to start, this award is a useful signal — but we'd rather earn your trust through your experience than ask you to take it on faith. Here's what you can count on when you come to us:
A thorough initial assessment — not a five-minute intake. Your first visit involves a full health history review and clinical examination so we understand your specific situation before treatment begins. Learn more on our what to expect page.
A personalized care plan — combining whichever services are clinically appropriate for your condition, coordinated across our team.
Transparent communication about costs and coverage — including direct billing for most extended health plans, ICBC, and WorkSafeBC. See our fees and policy page.
Honest expectations about outcomes — we tell you what we can and can't help with, and we refer out when another provider is better suited to your needs.
Don't just take our word for it. The 2025 Victoria Community Votes award was decided by real people in Greater Victoria — the same patients who leave reviews about their experience at our clinic. Read their stories here →

Is chiropractic care covered by MSP in BC?
Chiropractic care is not currently covered under BC's Medical Services Plan (MSP) for most patients. However, most extended health benefit plans through employers include chiropractic coverage, and ICBC and WorkSafeBC cover chiropractic treatment for eligible injury claims. We offer direct billing for many insurers. See our fees and policy page for the full breakdown.
What's the difference between a chiropractor and a physiotherapist?
Both chiropractors and physiotherapists treat musculoskeletal conditions, but their training and primary techniques differ. Chiropractors complete a 4-year Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree following undergraduate studies, with specialized training in spinal assessment, diagnosis, and chiropractic adjustments (joint manipulation). Physiotherapists complete a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) degree with a stronger emphasis on exercise rehabilitation and modalities. In practice, both professions have significant overlap, and many patients benefit from seeing both. Our team also includes rehabilitation components in treatment plans when appropriate.
